Uncle Billy Smith

1pm

When we think Lismore and music on the street, the first performer that comes to mind is Uncle Billy with his guitar and ballads that keep us all humming. Billy, also known as Black Man Dreaming, is a Bundjalung singer songwriter who plays a signature blend of country rock. Also one of Lismore’s most dedicated buskers, Bill has been playing all his life and has come to performing later in life after a lot of ups and downs. Bill sings from the heart. Billy is the soundtrack of Lismore CBD.

Kiss My Boots.jpg

Kiss My Boots

2pm

These Boots were made for ‘Playing’ and that’s just what they’ll do!  A comfortable pair of blues sisters/mammas, with musical souls/soles, ankle deep in the Blues. The backstay of these boots is provided by the steady grooves of Double Bass and Kick, supporting an inner lining of tasty electric guitar and banjo. Vamping up preloved tunes with a platform of their own, their music is laced with harmonies and attitude.

Joe Conroy_ets 2020.jpg

Joe Conroy

4pm

Joe is a Guitar and Composition student at SCU. He has come from a Folk background but while still acknowledging his Folk roots, Joe’s study of electric guitar and studio production has led him to explore some different sonic possibilities of his instrument. His new project draws inspiration from “vibe heavy” soundtracks of Quentin Tarantino and Ennio Morricone films, 70s psychedelic prog rock, the vast emptiness and isolation of outer space, the ever-looming dystopian reality and a healthily optimistic sense of redemption in a galaxy far far away.

The Steele Syndicate

8pm

The Steele Syndicate is all about the groove. Steele McMahon’s Brisbane-based octet is raucous, punchy and fun, with a genre-bending sound that reimagines elements of old school funk, reggae, ska and indie rock.  The band packs a roaring, four-piece horn section and a rhythm section to match. 2020 brings an exciting new project of recording and releasing six singles, completing another east coast tour, and expanding the band’s reach on the festival circuit, unleashing evolved, groovier-than-ever new tunes onto audiences all around.
